Ormewood Park

Ormewood Park

Home to great schools, with both traditional public and charter school options.

Welcome to Ormewood Park

Developed in 1892 and located east of downtown Atlanta, between Grant Park and East Atlanta, the charming Beltline neighborhood of Ormewood Park was named after Aquilla J. Orme, an official with the Atlanta Electric Light and Trolley Company.

New construction single family homes, condos, and apartments sit side by side along with Prefab and Sears catalog homes from the World War I era.  In addition, Ormewood Park is home to great schools, with both traditional public and charter school options. Maynard Jackson High School is a “rising star” in the Atlanta Public School System, graduating IB students and, in 2016, Georgia’s Principal of the Year, Stephanie Johnson.

Every year, creative people and their projects come together in Ormewood Park for the Meet the Makers Festival. Attendees and makers enjoy demonstrations, workshops, make-and-takes, presentations or other related activity during the festival.
