Welcome to Morningside / Lenox Park
Morningside/Lenox Park was founded in 1923 by developers JR Smith and MS Rankin. Commuters traveled to and from their homes by streetcar and by car. The city annexed the area in 1925, accelerating the neighborhood’s growth and prosperity. Approximately 3,500 households make up the neighborhood which includes the original subdivisions of Morningside, Lenox Park, University Park, Noble Park, Johnson Estates, and Hylan Park. You’ll find Morningside north of Virginia-Highland, east of Ansley Park, and west of Druid Hills.
Morningside is a thriving Atlanta in-town neighborhood filled with wonderful Tudor homes (with lots generally larger than those of its neighbors in Midtown or Virginia Highlands), shaded parks a nature preserve, and an award-winning elementary school. Every year there is the Historic Morningside Tour of Homes.
